Barón Ladrón de Guevara Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the oily juice, obtained exclusively by using mechanical processes that will not alter the oil.Treatments are restricted to washing, cold, decanting and filtering.

Barón Ladrón de Guevara White

Varietal breakdown: 100% Malvasia.

Grapes origin:Malvasia is a minority grape variety in Rioja. It is common in dry climates and poor soils with high humidity sensitivity. Medium-sized clusters; spherical berries, reddish-purple at maturity.wines over 60 years old from La Mezana plots located in Elciego at 510 metres above sea level. Calcareous clay soil.Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influences.

Winemaking:Harvested during the second week of September. Cold maceration. Fermented at low controlled temperature for two weeks. Stabilized for three months on its fine lees to prevent oxidation and add further complexity to the wine.

Tasting notes:Light yellow coloured with greenish gleams. High aromatic intensity, tropical fruit, passion fruit, mango; notes of apricot, peach, white fruit and fennel. Rich, soft and fresh. Perfectly integrated acidity and a long aftertaste where white flowers scents dominate.

Barón Ladrón de Guevara Young Red

Varietal breakdown: 95% Tempranillo, 5% Viura.A small percentage of Viura is added to Tempranillo, the region’s most important grape, to highlight its colour and aromas.

Grapes origin:37 year-old vines from El Encinal plots located in Elciego at 420 metres above sea level.Calcareous clay soil with rounded stones.Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influences.

Winemaking:Harvested during the third week of September. Traditional vinification process. De-stemming and skin-contact maceration at low temperature for 18 days. Pumping-over process repeated twice a day at the beginning; just one gentle pumping-over at the end.

Tasting notes:Great-depth, cherry-red, with light purple gleams. Abundant, ample tears, flowing slowly down the sides of the glass. High aromatic intensity, with prevailing notes of red fruit, strawberries; scents of black fruit, wild blackberries, raspberries, redcurrants. Well-balanced in the mouth, with a powerful and greedy entrance. Long aftertaste, with a background of fresh red fruit reinforcing the typical features of Rioja Alavesa young wines.

Barón Ladrón de Guevara Crianza

Varietal breakdown:94% Tempranillo, 6% Mazuelo.Mazuelo is the perfect complement to Tempranillo, since it helps us to produce wines with abundant tannins, high acidity and stable colour. These features are needed in wines that are going to be aged for long periods of time.

Grapes origin:42 year-old vines from Las Llanas and Dehesilla plots located in Elciego at 480 metres above sea level. Calcareous clay soil.Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influences.

Winemaking and ageing:Harvested during the first week of October. Pre-fermentative maceration over low temperature and spontaneous alcoholic fermentation. Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. Aged for 12 months, using French oak barrels (50%) and American oak barrels (50%).

Tasting notes:Great-depth, ripe cherry-red; clean and bright. Fruity on the nose, this wine is well balanced, with some balsamic notes against a cedar background. Blueberries and wild blackberries integrated with oaky aromas, such as vanilla or cinnamon. Fruit and oak perfectly blended on the palate; powerful and elegant wine. Long and intense aftertaste, with a background of bananas, strawberries and chocolate.

Barón Ladrón de Guevara Crianza

Varietal breakdown:92% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano.Graciano is an indigenous red grape variety in Rioja. It is an excellent complement to Tempranillo in a long ageing process.

Grapes origin:60 year-old vines from plots located in Elciego at 420 metres above sea level. Calcareous clay soil.Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influences.

Winemaking and ageing:Harvested during the second week of October. 9-day alcoholic fermentation at 26º C. Prolonged skin-contact maceration for 12 days. Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. Aged for 18 months, using French oak barrels (60%) and American oak barrels (40%).

Tasting notes:Great-depth, ruby-red. High aromatic intensity, with prevailing balsamic notes of aromatic herbs, lavender, fennel and rosemary. Perfectly integrated scents of black fruit. Big mouth-filling wine; well-balanced acidity in the mouth, with a pleasant structure and fine tannins. Agreeable finish, with a background of fruit and plum chocolate.

Varietal Breakdown:95% Tempranillo 5% Graciano

Harvest:Fourth week of October. From vines over 50 years old with low yields of no more than 4 clusters.

Winemaking:Fermentation temperature 28-30ºC. Malolactic fermentation in French Allier oak barrel.

Ageing:Type of oak: 100% French Allier. Brand new barrels. Time in Cask ageing: 3 months. Bottle ageing: the rest.

Tasting Notes:Intensive dark cherry-red with a garnet bright rim. Intense, honest nose of ripe wild berries with balsamic notes, against a subtle background of clean wood. Hefty, in the mouth, with clean aromas of smoky wood well integrated into ripe fruit. Velvety, perfectly balance. Fresh, meaty and elegant finish.

Serving temperature:Between 16ºC and 18ºC.

Gastronomy:Combine excellently with all the typical main courses, including sausage, Iberian ham, cheese and meat.

Tasting Notes:A deep garnet red with violet hues. Intense, honest nose of red berries with balsamic notes. Powerfull in the mouth, warm, silky and friendly. Fresh, meaty finish with an elegance that denotes the perfect balance of good ageing.

Serving temperature:Between 18ºC and 20ºC

Gastronomy:Combines beautifully with any good dish, particularly red meat and game

Harvest:Selective harvest took place during the fourth week in October. From wines facing southwest, over50 years old with low yields of no more than 4 cluster.

Vinification:Fermentation Temperature: 30 ºC

Ageing:Type of oak: 50% French oak and 50% Russian oak. Average cask age:3 years. Cask ageing: 24 months. Bottle ageing:12 months.

Tasting Notes:A deep cherry garnet red. Atractive to the nose: complex and intense, with notes of ripe fruit, liquorices and mediterranean herbs, underscored by a hint of vanilla denoting a perfect blend with quality wood. Very polished in the mouth, powerful, meaty, elegant and very expressive. . Despite and alcohol content over 14%, it maintains a delicate freshness. Persistent finish. Serving Temperature: Between 18ºC and 20 ºC.

Gastronomy:Ideally suited for red meat and game, it can easily continue to be enjoyed with sweet desserts.
